Hi and welcome to Modern Rustic Weddings!  If you are planning a rustic themed wedding we have all the information you need!

A bit about me

Growing up in a rural spot, I am a little bit outdoorsy and I love the forest.  My partner is the same so when we got engaged in 2019 we knew our perfect wedding would be rustic, casual and fun. We spent a year planning our modern rustic wedding. It was going to include a ceremony in the woods, a BBQ dinner and a party in the barn.

We researched every aspect of this wedding and we budgeted and planned our hearts out.  However, Covid-19 had other plans for us. With half the guests coming from overseas there was no way we could continue with the wedding so we cancelled it in March 2020.  This left us with the same predicament as a lot of people at this time. What to do? We decided to elope! With my dress in the process of being made and the photographer still booked, we changed our plans and started again.

This is why I started this blog. We have done so much research!  We planned an entire modern rustic wedding and then we started again with a rustic elopement. After all this research I feel like I have a lot to share about the wedding planning process and I have learnt so much about what to expect when going with a rustic theme.

A bit about weddings

When you start planning your wedding there is so much information out there! It can be overwhelming and a little scary, as you read that your plan to let everyone sit where they like will upset your distant aunt or your simple non-white dress is inappropriate.   We have been there too and we learned what to prioritise, what battles to fight and how you can achieve your dream rustic wedding on a budget.

So if you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave a comment below and I will be more than happy to help you out.  You can also check out our pinterest or email [email protected]
